How do I change my username?

To change your username, click 'Settings' , expand the section 'New username' . Please read the information about changing your username carefully.

How do I change my password?

To change your password, click 'Settings' , expand the 'Update Password' section.link.

How do I change my email address?

To change your email address, click 'Settings' , then 'Email Settings ' . Make sure you set your Email preferences.

How do I hide my profile?

To hide your profile, click ‘Settings’ , expand 'My preferences' . Then select ‘Yes’ next to ‘Hide profile’ . This will hide your profile from searches and members online lists.

How do I cancel my membership/remove my profile?

To cancel your membership and remove your profile from the site, click ‘Settings’ and expand 'Remove Profile’ at the bottom of the Settings page. Pressing the REMOVE PROFILE button will ask if you are sure, then press OK to remove your profile.

Profile Photo

Your Profile Photo is the photo that shows on your profile

How do I add a photo to my profile?

Your photo needs to be in .jpg (jpeg) format and under 5MB in size.
  • To change your photo, click on ‘Profile' on the top menu bar then on the 'EDIT’ button inside the photo frame.
  • A new window will be displayed which will enable you to choose a photo to upload.
  • You can add a caption to your photo if you wish.
  • You have the option to show your photo to the general public
    (i.e. Anyone including non-members), Pink Sofa members only (this means it may also show up on the featured member page), or you can hide it and only send it to those you choose.
  • Click on the 'UPDATE PROFILE PHOTO' button to complete the process.
  • Please note – all photos are submitted to us for approval and will only be visible once they have been approved.
  • If you have difficulty uploading a photo, email it to us at admin@pinksofa.com with your username and we will upload it for you.

How many profile photos can I have?

You can only have one Profile photo uploaded at a time. If you wish to change your photo, just upload a new one and it will replace the old one. No photo will be displayed while your photo is submitted for approval.

What kind of profile photos can I have?

The photo needs to have a clear shot of your face. Please read the photo guidelines for more detailed information.

How do I hide my profile photo?

To hide your photo, click on the ‘Profile' tab and then ‘EDIT’ on your photo, select ‘Hide my photo’ . Remember to press the 'UPDATE PROFILE PHOTO' button to activate this option.

How do I send my photo to another member (if it is hidden)?

To attach your hidden Profile photo to a message, click on the SEND MESSAGE button that appears on the member’s profile page.
You will have an 'Allow to View Profile Photo' checkbox you can check prior to clicking 'SEND MESSAGE' . Don’t forget to include your message text.

Gallery Photos

Show members another side to you by including photos of your pet, bike or latest tattoo!

What kind of gallery photos can I have?

Gallery photos can be of anything you like, as long as they meet the Photo Guidelinesgallery guidelines. By uploading photos of other people you warrant that you have their permission to do so.

How many gallery photos can I have?

  • Premium Members can have up to 30 photos
  • Basic members can have up to 3 photos
  • Trial members are not able to upload a gallery

Premium members who have uploaded more than 3 photos will have all but the 3 most recently uploaded photos hidden should their membership lapse to Basic. Upon re-subscribing, all uploaded photos will again be visible.

How do I add photos to my gallery?

Your photos needs to be in .jpg (jpeg) format and under 5MB in size.
  • To add photos to your gallery, click on 'Profile' from the top menu bar, then ‘MY GALLERY’ that appears under your Profile photo, then on the 'Add Image’ button and then on one of the 'Choose File' button.
  • Browse your computer to locate the photos you wish to upload.
  • You can select multiple photos to upload (maximum of 3 for Basic members, 6 per upload for Premium members).
  • Once you have selected the photos for upload, click on the 'UPLOAD PHOTOS’ button.
  • You can add a caption to your photo if you wish by entering the caption into the Add Caption field and clicking on the Green tick button.

Who can see my gallery?

  • You can choose to show your gallery to all Pink Sofa members or only members you allow by choosing from the dropdown below 'Who can see my gallery' .
  • If you choose the 'Only members I allow' option, click on the ‘SELECT’ button to add members.
  • Members you have blocked cannot see your gallery.

How do I delete my gallery photos?

Click on 'MY GALLERY' and then click on the delete icon (trash can) that appears in the top left corner of the photo to delete the photo.

How do I view another member's gallery?

  • The 'View Gallery' button will be visible to the right of a member's profile if they have a gallery which they have allowed you to view, or they have elected to show their gallery to all members.
  • Click on an image to view the gallery in slideshow view.

I've seen an inappropriate photo. What can I do?

Use the 'report' button on the image in slideshow view.


What does it cost to be on this website?

  • Click on the 'Subscribe' button on the right side of the top navigation menu bar to view our subscription costs.
  • A Premium membership can be purchased via the 'SUBSCRIBE' button and allows you to send unlimited messages to other members, use the one-to-one video, audio and web instant messenger, receive priority listings in the search results and priority customer service.
  • From time to time we offer Trial memberships. A trial gives you the chance to experience the site as you would with a subscription. At the end of the trial you will automatically change back to a Basic member unless you subscribe.
  • Members receive one trial only. Please don't try to sign-up for multiple accounts.

Will my credit card be automatically renewed when my subscription expires?

1 and 3 month subscriptions will be renewed automatically. To prevent automatic renewals, cancel the automatic-renewal agreement by clicking on the 'My Subscription' button and then the 'cancel auto-renewal' link AFTER you have subscribed.

How do I stop automatic payments?

After you have subscribed, click on the 'My Subscription' button and then the "cancel auto-renewal" link . You MUST cancel the agreement a MINIMUM of 3 days prior to the next scheduled payment.

Can I get a refund?

We will refund your subscription amount if you make a multiple payment in error. Refunds will not be made if:
  • You cancel your membership or remove your profile during your subscription period OR
  • Your membership is suspended/terminated due to a breach of our Terms and Conditions
  • Unredeemed/declined gift subscriptions cannot be refunded, but can be added to your subscription, or gifted to someone else.

Messages and Smiles

How do I send a message to someone?

  • Click on the profile of the person you want to send a message to
  • Click on the 'SEND MESSAGE' button located just under their profile photo. If there is no 'SEND MESSAGE' button, it means that the member is a basic member and can only receive smiles.
  • Type in your message and click on the 'SEND MESSAGE' button.

What is my message history?

You can see what you have sent to someone by:
  • Clicking on ‘Inbox’ from the top menu bar and then on the ‘Messages sent’ tab.
  • Click on the 'history' link just to the right of the message in your inbox.
  • Clicking on the person 's profile and then clicking on the “View History' link.
  • If it is important for you to keep a history of a conversation, we recommend copying it and pasting into a word document.

Can I delete my message history?

No. Just as a sent email cannot be recalled, you cannot delete what you have sent.

Who can I send messages to?

Premium members can send unlimited messages to all members whenever you like. The only exception is if a particular member has blocked you.

Who is able to reply to my messages?

Anyone with an active subscription or trial offer can reply to your messages. Other members will be able to send you smiles. If you'd like to get to know one of our Basic members better then send them a smile or buy them a gift subscription.

How can I stop someone sending me messages/smiles?

You can use the block feature – this will stop specific members being able to send you smiles or messages. The ‘BLOCK’ button is found on the left hand side of each member's full profile.

I have accidentally blocked someone. How do I unblock them?

Click on People then Blocks from the top navigation bar and you will see members you have blocked, click on the Unblock link.

Who can I send smiles to, and who can reply to my smiles?

You can send smiles to all members, and all members are able to reply to smiles, unless they have blocked you or if you have blocked them.


How do I show I'm in a relationship with another member?

To show you're in a relationship, simply:
  • Click on 'Profile' , then Click on ‘EDIT’ next to your basic information.
  • If required, change your relationship status to 'in a relationship' and add the other member's username to the 'with' field (if already showing as in a relationship, just add the other member's username)
  • Click on the 'Submit' button
  • A request to confirm your relationship is sent to the other member's inbox and will also appear at the top of their 'Profile' page. Their name will not appear on your profile until confirmed
  • If the other member confirms your request, your username will show on their profile and yours will show on theirs
  • If the other member cancels the request, your relationship status will remain as 'in a relationship' but will not refer to the other member
  • While a request you have sent is awaiting confirmation, when you view your own profile it will read 'in a relationship with *member name* (awaiting confirmation)' . This will not show to other members

How do I know someone has sent me a relationship request?

A relationship request will appear at the top of your 'Profile' page and in an inbox message from webmistress.

How do I confirm the request?

Follow the link in the Inbox message, then click on the confirm button and your profile will show 'in a relationship ' with the other member and their profile will show 'in a relationship' with you.

How do I cancel the request?

To cancel the relationship:
  • Click on the cancel button and there will be no change to your profile
  • The other member will not be notified that you cancelled the request, your username simply will not show on their profile

How do I break a relationship?

To break a relationship, follow these instructions:
  • Click on 'Profile' , then ‘EDIT’ next to your basic information.
  • Change your relationship status to any option other than 'in a relationship'
  • Click on the Submit button to update your profile
  • The other member's username will no longer show on your profile
  • Your username will no longer show on the other member's profile

Can I send a relationship request to a member who has blocked me?


Gift Subscriptions

How do I purchase a gift subscription for someone?

You can purchase a gift subscription for any member on the site.
  • Click on the 'Gift Subscription' link in the page footer (under the ‘Help’ column, enter the username of the member who you wish to purchase the gift subscription for. Click on the 'NEXT' button.
  • If more than one name appears, you will need to select which member the gift is for before clicking 'NEXT' .
Please note: Gift subscriptions can only be purchased online with a credit card. Unredeemed/declined gift subscriptions cannot be refunded, but can be added to your subscription, or gifted to someone else.


How can I hide my profile?

  • You can hide your profile from both searches and the online list.
  • Click on 'Settings' and then expand 'My Preferences' .
  • If you don't wish to show up in any search results, choose the Hide Profile option as ‘Yes’ then click the 'UPDATE' button.
  • If you don 't want others to see when you are online, set the Show me as online to ‘No’ then click the ‘UPDATE’ button.


I am having technical difficulties – what can I do?

Please provide us with as much information as you can about the problem you are experiencing. The more information you give us, the more likely that we will be able to help you.
  • Click on the 'Technical report form' link in the page footer area under the Get in Touch column. In the form’s Description of Problem area please explain in detail what happens, providing as much information as possible.
  • Click on the ‘SUBMIT’ button to send your technical issue.
  • Make sure we have a valid email address so we can respond to you, particularly if your problem relates to being able to access your message within the website.

Where can I send questions?

To send us a question, click on the 'Contact' link in the footer’s ‘Get in Touch’ column, Click on the 'SUBMIT' button to send your question.

How can I search for others?

  • To search for other members, click on one of the searches under the 'Search' heading in the top menu bar.
  • Try one of the searches on your welcome page.

Site Features


Our Forums have a range of topics - something for everyone. These forums are for discussions of a general nature - and which are not location specific, i.e. they should be relevant no matter where you live.

Guidelines for the forums are included at the bottom of each topic page, as is a link for reporting offensive or inappropriate posts. We encourage you to contribute to the quality of these forums by reporting inappropriate postings. A "Report post" link appears on the bottom of each forum and forum post.

Click on the 'Guidelines' link under each Forum listing to obtain more information about how to use this section of the site.


You can read and submit testimonials about the sofa. If you have had something good happen, let us know! Click on the ‘Send a testimonial’ link under the ‘Get in Touch’ column of the footer.


How do I send a friend request?
  • Click on the 'ADD To FRIENDS' button on the member's profile (on the left side bar)
  • A message asking for a confirmation will be displayed.
  • Click on the 'OK' button
  • A request is sent to the other member's inbox and will show as a pending request on their Friends page and ‘ADD TO FRIENDS’ will change to ‘PENDING’ on your display of the member’s profile.
  • The receiving member has the option of confirming or ignoring your request
  • Confirmed friends will now show in your friends list.
  • To remove someone from your friends list click the "UNFRIEND" button on their profile or from your Friends list under the People tab of the top navigation bar.


Simply click on the "SAVE" button on her profile to add her to your saved list.

This is an anonymous list for your own use. Members you add to this list are not aware that you have done so.


In the ‘VIEW NOTES’ you can make your own personal comments about a member. These notes are only visible to you.

You can include information such as whether you have sent them a smile, their contact details if they have provided these to you, and whatever else you want.

They can be easily updated or deleted.

Notes can be accessed with each profile - just under the photo spot.


Searches are one of the best ways of finding people who you are looking for. Our current searches are as follows:

You can choose from:
  • Online now
    Displayed in a page format, and arranged by location. You can view online members in this default summary view, by Gallery view (pictures) or Short Profile view.

  • Instant messenger
    Shows you who is available for Instant messaging.

  • New members
    Allows you to see who has joined today, yesterday, in the last week and in the last month.

  • Quick search
    Allows you to search by specific criteria. The more categories you choose, the fewer results you will receive.

  • Advanced Search
    Allows you to refine your search much more. You will get far fewer results, but they are likely to be a better match. Once you have selected your criteria, you just need to click on the sofa in this area and it will perform the search with the criteria you have used previously (saves you re-entering it again). You can save each search you do, to save re-entering your details. ‘Advanced search’ allows you to search using a keyword to find people with specific interests or characteristics. Looks for the keyword in the member’s profile description.

  • Saved searches
    By putting in a description into the ‘Save As’ field in Advanced search or in the left side bar from the search results display you can quickly access any searches you have saved and see if any new members come up to fit your criteria.

  • Username search
    if you know the name of the person you are looking for, enter it here. We recommend that once you find the person you are looking for that you add them to your friends or saved list as this will help you find them quickly in future.

Chit Chat

Chit Chat is an extended Status Update feature that allows members to like or comment on other members' posts.

Use the dropdown to filter which updates you can see - your country, region, friends, saved or all posts.

Common Technical Problems

I am having technial problems. What can I do?

The first thing you can do is read the questions below, to see if your question is answered here. If not...
  • Click on the 'Technical report form' under the Get in touch column in the footer of the page.
  • Fill out as many details as you can. The more information you give us, the quicker we will be able to help you.
  • Where possible, provide us with an alternative contact email in case you have difficulties receiving messages from us.

"I can't read my messages or view profiles"

The most likely reason for this is that you have pop up blockers installed. As there are many different configurations it is best to use a search engine such as Google to find information on how to turn off pop up blockers for your particular internet browser.

"I keep getting booted from chat"

One of the main reasons why people get booted from chat is that they have too many other windows open. Chat software uses a lot of memory, so it struggles when there are other demands on your computer at the same time.

For best results, shut down all other programs and only have the windows open that you absolutely need.

"I get an error message when I try to access chat"

Please copy and paste your error message into the technical support form and submit this to us.


Complaint about the sofa

Our complaints process is as follows:
  • Fill out the contact form - this can be found under the 'Contact' link under the Get in Touch column in the footer of each page. Include as much detail as possible about the complaint.
  • We will notify you that we have received the complaint and let you know the likely time frame of when we expect to resolve the issue.
  • We will let you know the outcome of your complaint

Complaint about another member

We do not get involved in personal disputes between members, and encourage the use of the various tools on the website to deal with unwelcome communications. These include hiding one's profile, blocking a member, and using the 'ignore' function within the chat room.
