So You Think You Can Dance

Has anyone started watching this since Idol has finished?

I love it, being that i love to dance, its got me hooked big time! Here i was thinking i would have sunday nights free until BB07 and now this! Its a really good show, im just wondering what the judges were thinking to get rid of Stavros, he was fantastic..maybe it was a look or something..hmmm

I loved it!
couldn't stay still while i watched.

I think Stavros was picked because he is a very formal dancer and he was up against the young modern styles. Personally i think Ivan should have gone.
I'd actually prefer that they all got to do all the different styles before they started kicking anyone out.

maybe im a bit uninformed, i missed a fair bit of it sunday coz i had to do family duties (pick my nan up from a party lol) but have seen all the others...yeah i guess he is somewhat formal, but that appeals to me...will have to see more and the modern stuff before i make another opinion pmsl..

cant wait for sunday though! nothing on!!

I'm hooked but i find the illimination process excrutiating!!

It's like taking the idol singers and making them do Duets and scoring them on that. and then only giving them 15 seconds to show their own style to see if they can avoid Illimination.
AND!!! the camera work was making me dizzy in the Hip Hop routine!! Whats with That!!??
I couldn't see half of the choreography! or was that the point do you think?

Oh and my Daughter was watching the Hip Hop bit with me this morning and found one of the comments to be insulting and rascist.

The comment from one of the judges
(African American guy) was that the female (white) dancer "danced like a white Girl".

very interesting, see kids are so much more accepting arent they!

i have to agree with the camera angles! but i had my girls 7yr old trying to talk football to me and im like ssshh in the ads lol im soooo addicted and dont want ANYTHING interupting it..how sad is that ehehe

I see what you mean with the process, it is very hard! And its not really fair if one is good and the other isnt and then they 15 second thing..

Cant wait to see the aussie version!! woohoo

although alot of the dancers that didnt make it at the start cause they only knew thier style, or was self tought was really good just not versitile enough for the comp.

After the last few weeks i have gotten to like Dimitry and oh no..cant think of his name..he is a contempary dancer, umm he did hip hop last nite...anyway him, and the girls dont fase me but the girls who are darker(pls dont take offense) get my eye more...

yeah so true i think his gonna do real well with that pop chic the poor guy has ad sum bad luck with his patners though. oh yeah i think the darker girls take the stage with this donyelle is my fav, and i think heidi has stepped up her game...cant wait till it comes back on

If you go to http://www.fox.com/dance/  (the homepage for "So You Think You Can Dance") you can actually bring up the songs played for each episode!

Go into Recaps at the top of the page and chose a recap for season 2.
Haven't been able to figure out what episode we are up to (or the one you were refering to in your last post) but it does list the songs according to who danced to them so you may be able to figure it out from that.
Be warned though- don't look around the whole site too much because it gives away who wins in the end!

This show has suprised me actually! Even being an ex-dancer I wasn't too interested in it at first (thought it would be just another trashy american reality/talent quest show)but when my partner caught a few minutes of it whilst channel surfing one night and actually stayed on the program, I thought it might be worth a look in. Glad I did! Makes me miss dancing myself tho

Any dramas with finding where to look let me know

I actually went to that site and yes found out who won...hmm

which was a bit disappointing but didnt realise what i was doing or that it had finished over there!

I have looked at the recaps and still cant find it so have given up lol

One day it will be played somewhere and i will get it! lol

I know, i miss dancing too and it makes you want to get into it again hey! What kind of dancing did you do?

Doh! Bugger hey Hate it when that happens. I'm always making the mistake of looking at american sites and finding out a little too much information. And boy do I get growled at by my other half if I tell her what I find out! Lucky I'm good at keeping secrets

Nothing more annoying than hearing a song and not being able to identify it! I use to go into music stores and hum songs to them just to find out who sang them! Rather embarrasing but it bugs the hell out of me till I find out. Thankfully the internet makes it a lot easier these days.

Do you remember any lyrics from the song?

Use to do Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Modern Expressive as a youngin. I still tap when I'm happy! Only at home mind you-not a good look at the pub
