Taken hostage

I had the most horrendous night with a recurring dream about being taken hostage. I don't know why I was a hostage but each time I woke, feeling shaken and afraid, it felt more real. When I went back to sleep I would fall back into the next part of the dream until I found myself free from captivity but suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. This meant that I kept reliving the horror in other dreams. Any thoughts?

Re: Taken hostage

It's like you are internally holding yourself to 'ransom' so you meet some goal or obligation that maybe you feel stressed about or really don't want to do.  Alternatively, you could actually feel trapped in a situation (relationship, job, etc.) that you may be in denial about...

It's also about self-sabotage, feeling out of control in some situation - feeling victimised or violated.  You need to check in with yourself to get the specifics, and then make some shifts.

On a personal note, i experienced being taken hostage by a long-distance a few years back - horrendous would be an understatement! - the post-trauma still creeps up on me, so im with you sister...

Peace-out while dreaming...

Re: Taken hostage

You are spot on there. Thank you. I'm in a tricky job situation at the moment that is setting off some old things that I'd rather not go through again.

Thanks for you response, it's been really helpful :-)
