My best lesbian film is Desert Hearts. I remember watching it many years ago before I had "come out" to myself even-and thinking mmmm thats for me.
I love that line " I found someone that really counts-they put string of lights round my heart".......

I am not fhe voice of film experience here, but I also thought Tipping the Velvet was one of the best movies I have seen ... beautiful, touching, erotic at times, sensitive, evocative, provocative, honest, human.  

I also adored Boys Don't Cry .. gave mainstream cinema a run for its money! Hilary Swank, hey, may not be gay but definitely a sister.

Tipping the Velvet was an amazing movie!  Glad to see others enjoyed it!

Some one recommended the movie "But I'm a Cheerleader!"  I read some basic plot summaries online and it seems wishy washy.  But a lot of people seem to enjoy it.  I cancelled my Netflix, my local library does not carry it, and neither does my Blockbuster.
I am considering buying it from Amazon.com.

I really love Saving Face.  Lynn Chen is so so beautiful!  Also Loving Annabelle.  Who doesn't love Erin Kelly?

I agree with anuke, Aimee & Jaguar is a brilliant film. A young Jewish girl hiding her identity in Nazi Germany falls in love with the wife of a high ranking German officer!! Heart breaking to watch but very moving.

Boys Don't Cry

And But I'm a Cheerleader is not that bad, I'd say it's really great if you want something "fun" and a movie that doesn't have you thinking for hours afterwards.. Or maybe that's just me..

The film 'Gia', one of Angelina's first.

Its the story of Gia Carangi, the world's first real supermodel. Its dark in places and you wouldnt watch it for a happy 'pick me up', but a really fantastic film.

Bound, because I'm not much of a romance person. BIAC is funny, but dated and it kind of loses focus in the middle to the end. I liked Incredibly True as well. I need to watch more lesbian films. Any one know of lesbian horror films?
